The Road Where the Flow Pauses and Goes On
Yong Wan Choi 10.31.10
Where there is change, there is time
time great and small
flows in abundance along the passing road
Sorrow, sinking under the water,
soaks down long into life
and laughter, scattered on the wind,
comes crowding in to dry the hearts hung on the clothesline
Time raises moments until the years grow up
a life rooted upon the flow
finds it hard to stop and is carried along the road
when change is heaped on change
while we glance away, a moment floats off into the void
We gain knowledge by striving to know
cultivate refinement through being deeply moved
and though happiness overflows in gestures of delight
death halts the flow and shuts the door
On the road the world has emptied with a change of heart
if memories gather and carry it on again
though the time of one life has stopped
the flow of life is eternal
for the end of one life is the beginning of the next
