Takeoff 離陸
Yong Wan Choi
Holding a plane ticket won on the road of dreams
I call a taxi and leave before the dawn wakes
Joys and pains that stubbornly squirmed
are packed tight in firmly tied bags and checked
in the waiting room, faces looking at one another
forgetting the stories of taking with a smile and being robbed in tears,
waiting together,
following the back of the one ahead, I set out on the long road
Fastening my belt in the assigned seat
shaking off the past to the roar of the runway
at last I part from the ground where my feet had lived
While I look down on the world that bustled to the end
departure and arrival hang on the needles of the control panel
a journey handed over to the uniformed pilot
piercing billowing layers of cloud, it rises into the next hour
tomorrow's dream spread across the blue sky
is a splendid carpet road laid long over the white clouds
drawing one white line across the firmament, it flies after the light
