Rushing in with a shout
drawing back as if shy
dashing against the mountain, wearing down the boulders
the sand of broken rock
flutters on the hem of the waves
in the heat of the surging flood tide
the ebb tide that left without looking back
the sun sinks over the red traces in the sand
the countless stories of the stars in the night sky
the waves tell all night long
the moon, veiled by cloud, silently closes its eyes
within the vast universe
the breathing of the living, resting earth
is the song of the sea heard in a dream
