Bearing one person on its shoulders
the weight of many people goes rushing about

Chased by time, piling the day up high,
down the sloping road through the middle of town
it shoots like an arrow

Pouring with sweat
dragged along by power and money
it changes the scenery at every wave of hand and foot
press down with a foot and pour in the oil
and the rice that would feed many people burns

Before it lets out black smoke and darkens the sky
people run barefoot in a panic
and the day is crossed as one person wills
