I linger in this place that seems not to be mine
the backdrop was already set before I came

In pounding encounters, unsure whether to smile or what to do,
we meet strangers and make our way with them for a long while
but before we can even ask how we came so far
we part in a single moment

Wake and then sleep, and the time is gone for good
from the moment I began to wonder where it goes
my heart seemed to wander this way and that

Then one day, after long being unable to find my bearings,

having lived on without ever knowing,
how grateful I was to have forgotten
and because I have learned that, even this late,
I go on living quietly with an easy heart
