Human beings
are fearsome beasts that catch and eat living grass, trees, animals, and birds
and devour the mountains and fields

Human beings
are savage monsters that hate and envy, kill and spare one another,
and wipe out whole clans in war

Human beings
turn around and forget, and the young and the weak
they pity, raising up their little ones—
they are kindly lives

Human beings,
trusting and leaning on one another, loving the wind and the stars,
are children of the sun and moon
the family of heaven
