The Have-Not

Someone who earned with ease is one of the haves
one who struggled and could not earn is a have-not

As what comes easily goes easily
they forget their faith too,
lose parents, relatives, and friends,
and complain there is no money and no heaven

But the have-not who won faith the hard way and lives keeping it to the end
always lives in plenty,
grateful, giving, forgiving

All things in the world, for there is faith within me:
the heart of my mother, who set out a bowl of water and prayed
