A life that closed its eyes
happily, with a believing heart
freed from the body, an endless beginning
the tracks it ran along the road of living
the bloodline it left behind
the neighbors it loved
the grace it shared
the traces it made, alive in the world
an eternal pulse beating without a heart
between person and person
between past and future
from day to night, that which does not die
